The atmosphere over parts of South Texas was just moist enough and had enough lift to fire off some significant thunderstorms Sunday evening over parts on South Texas near San Diego and Alice.
Emergency managers in reported wind damage bad enough where the roof of a shed was blown off onto County Road 103 in Duval County. There were also reports of power lines being blown down in the same area around 8:40 pm.
A weather reporting station in Orange Grove reported winds as high 62 mph. in that area as severe thunderstorms rolled through during the evening hours.
Coastal Calhoun, Goliad, Inland Calhoun, Inland Refugio, Victoria counties also experienced some severe storms this evening as conditions along the boundary allowed for development.
As earlier predicted the storms remain outside of the Corpus Christi metro area.
As of 10:30 pm Sunday evening the storms had mostly worked their way out as daytime heating and lift slowed. All of the watches and warning have since expired.
