Developing: Local School Superintendent Dies From Complications To Coronavirus
The Flour Bluff ISD confirmed that Dr. David Freeman, Superintendent has died.
Dr. Freeman had been hospitalized from a brief illness over the past several weeks and while not confirmed by the district, reports are that Dr. Freeman had also tested positive for COVID-19 in addition to other medical conditions.
Dr. Freeman was a beloved member of the community and prior to serving at Flour Bluff, he served locally at London ISD as their Superintendent.
Of learning of Wednesday’s passing, Corpus Christi City Council Greg Smith said that he is saddened by the loss.
“This is a great loss for our community and our school district,” Mr. Smith said. “This is tragic.”
Freeman is survived by his wife and three children.
Dr. Freeman was 46.
