Gov. Abbott extends disaster declaration for coronavirus response
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has extended the disaster declaration for COVID-19 across all Texas counties.
The declaration was originally issued March 13, 2020.
The extension of the disaster declaration also comes as school districts in Texas get ready for their 2020-2021 school years and as at least one area school district is making attempts to keep the parental concern down by instructing staff to refrain from talking to the press or mentioning virus related issues on social media.
Many districts will either be starting the school year with virtual learning only or offering in-person and remote learning options for parents and students.
