Texas A&M-Corpus Christi keeping track of COVID-19 on campus and maintaining transparency on the issue
So far officials at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi have had 15 total cases of COVID-19 reported since the campus opened for classes.
The University groups those positive cases into base categories for students and staff. Those categories include students and staff who had what the university calls direct (on-campus) and indirect (off-campus) campus impact.
On-campus or Direct impact means that a student or staff member was on campus within 2 days of testing positive or exhibiting symptoms of illness. Indirect or off-campus impact is defined as an individual who was not on campus within 2 days of testing positive or exhibiting symptoms of illness.
Of the 15 cases reported between August 23 and August 29, 2020 there have been mostly indirect cases reported. There have been 12 indirect students and no staff. There has however been 3 direct campus reports of 2 students and 1 staff member.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is maintaining transparency on the issue by maintaining a dashboard that is being updated each week on Monday by 5 pm to inform students, staff and the public about ongoing concerns and outbreaks.
That dashboard can be found on TAMU-CC website.
