Southwest Airlines says that they have grounded 115 of their Boeing 737-800. On Wednesday night the Dallas, Texas based carrier said that they made the move based on a weight discrepancy with the planes out of an abundance of caution.
Southwest says that the issue lies with the reporting of the weight and balance within a dispatching software and the move will cause some delays and/or cancellations.
Southwest said that there would need to be a reset between the planes and the software.
It’s unclear exactly how long that will take.
