Gov. Abbott asks for major declaration from White House to include Nueces County

Texas Governor Greg Abbot has requested a major disaster declaration for 5 Texas countries following Hurricane Hanna back in July. The Governor’s office says that will include Nueces County.

The declaration would include assistance for debris removal, emergency repairs and other necessary issues that the counties face following the disaster.

The request would allow for more federal resources to assist with helping the communities impacted by Hanna recover quicker.

It is expected that President Trump will issue the declaration that Gov. Abbott has requested.
