The Mexican  Ministry of Foreign Relations announced on Friday  that restrictions on land transit will be extended for non-essential travel on international bridges on the border between Mexico and the United States.

Just across the bridge in Laredo, Texas, officials were already prepared for the opening of international bridges, with security protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19, however, the opening of the border for non-essential travel will have to wait.

It was the Government of Mexico that proposed the extension of these restrictions, which have never been applied for commercial flights, until November 21, 2020.

It has been 7 months since the closure of the International Bridges, a decision that was made after the high risks of spread of the Coronavirus.
