Water restrictions could be coming to Corpus Christi as early as next week

City of Corpus Christi officials say that they could make an  announcement about water restrictions in the next few days.

Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni told city council that the combined levels at Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon are currently situated at 40.1-percent and that water restrictions seem to be likely to occur.

Corpus Christi faces this problem almost annually and city officials will likely designate when and how citizens can do things such as water their yards.

The forecast doesn’t call for significant rain anytime soon and Zanoni says that a decision on what restrictions might be put into place could come as early as Monday.
